FAQs

How long will it take you to find the car I want?

Keep in mind that the Greater Nevada Auto Auction is one of the largest auctions on the West coast! They sell between two and three thousand vehicles a week!!! Unless you want something that is VERY odd, I can usually get what you want the first week!

How much can I expect to pay for the vehicle I want?

That of course depends on what type of auto you want. The more desirable the vehicle, such as a Honda or Toyota, the more you will pay closer to the Kelley Blue Book price. If you want one that is not as popular, such as a Ford or Chevy, it will be less.

Do I need to have the money up front, or can I finance the automoblie I want?

I am a licensed, insured and bonded automobile dealer. We will work with ANY financial institution of your choosing. You just need to tell us who it is you want to finance through and their phone number. We will call them and do ALL the paper work.

When can we pick up the vehicle we buy?

In most cases you can get it the same day I buy it, Friday. Unless there is a glich in your financing we want you to have it in your hands as soon as possible. The large percentage of buyers get the car the same day we buy it.

What if there is a mechanical problem with the vehicle we buy?

If the automobile is less than three years old and has less than 36,000 miles on it, there is a FULL FACTORY WARRANTY on it. If it is above those numbers it is just like buying it at ANY other dealer, the factory warranty has expired. It is "as is".

Can I buy an extended warranty, or what is called an after market extended warranty?

Yes, we offer extended warranties. The price is around $1,500.00 for most common types of vehicles. Four wheel drive automobiles, those with diesel engines, and high performance vehicles are an additional charge.

Where do most of the vehicles at the auction come from?

The five most common places the auction vehicles come from are: Lease returns, rental returns, repossessions, consigned vehicles, and dealer trade ins.

I heard that all the vehicles at an auction have been wrecked or stolen or flooded vehicles. Is that true?

NO!!! This auction is the SAME auction that EVERY other dealer in town, and about 600 dealers from neighboring states come to, to buy their previously owned automobiles. There are auctions that sell wrecked, stolen and flooded vehicles, but not this one.

But, I live out of the state of Nevada. Would it be worth it for me to buy from you and then need to come all the way to Las Vegas and pick it up?

Ask the HUNDREDS of people who have done just that!!! They may end up spending $150.00 on a plane ticket and a day on the road back home, but would you be willing to do that to save three to five thousand dollars? It works!!!

If I live out of state and buy from you will there be any "other" fees I will pay to my home state when I go to register it because it was purchased "out of state"?

About five years ago, if you lived in the state of California I would have said yes! But, CA. got their hands slapped and were forced to repay all the money they had collected that way. No, there are no out of state charges to be paid to your state!

How can I see what automobiles are going to be available?

Each week I post the list of automobiles on this web site on Thursdays by about 11:00 A.M. Las Vegas time. You just need to check in on the web site and browse to your hearts content.

How do I know what price to tell you to bid on the vehicle I want?

On Thursday I will call you (if you have sent me a "request vehicle" form from my web site) I will get on the auctions web site and tell you the price the vehicle you want has been selling for.

I have two thousand dollars, can I get a nice car for that?

Get serious, what have you been smoking? I sell cars, I am not a magician!!! If I had a nickel for evey person who has asked me to purchase them a "nice Toyota or Honda" for two thousand dollars I would not need to do this job!!! You get what you pay for.

Ok, so then how much money do I need to get a nice car?

"Nice" is a relative term. I can get you a better deal than you will get at ANY showroom dealer anywhere in the country. Go to my "recent purchases" button on this web site and look over the prices of some of the deals I have made lately.

When and where is the auction held?

The auction is held in Las Vegas, Nevada on EVERY Friday. The only exception is if Christmas or New Years Day fall on Friday. The week of Thanksgiving they may schedule the auction on the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving or the regular Friday date.

What is the fee for you to go to the auction and get a vehicle for me?

I charge $500.00 for ALL common types of vehicles. That means all makes and models such as Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Dodge, etc. The high end cars like BMW, Lexus, etc. I charge $1,000.00 to buy.

Do I pay the sales tax to you or to the DMV for the vehicle I purchase from you?

If you are registering it in the state of Nevada you will pay the sales tax to me at the time of purhcase. If you are registering it in any other state you will pay it to the DMV in what ever state you are registering it in at the time you register it.

Are there any dealer fees besides the $500.00 for your services?

We do not charge ANY dealer preperation, destination, undercoating or other charges. We charge a $199.00 documentation fee. That is $199.00, NOT $499.00 or more that most showroom dealers charge. There is also a $128.25 title fee. Compare that to a $299.00 or more title fee from a showroom dealer. These are the only fees charged.

I heard that you only buy "like new" automobiles that are one, two or three years old. Can I get an older vehicle that is in the $3,000.00 range even if it has a lot of miles on it?

Yes! I can buy you what ever you want. I specialize in "like new", "late model", "low miles" vehicles that are still under a FULL FACTORY WARRANTY!! But, I can and will buy you an "older" car if you want. Remember, you get what you pay for. If you want me to buy an older car and only have $3,000.00 to spend, do not expect me to get you a "NICE" Honda or Toyota! It will not happen. With an older car with high miles there is no warranty.

Do you take a "trade in" vehicle?

Yes, we will take a trade in. Just remember, we only make $500.00 on the sale to you. We can not give you more than what the vehicle is worth like some "showroom" dealers can. They make THOUSANDS on the car they are selling you. Would you rather buy from us and save four thousand dollars on the purchase price of the vehicle you are buying and get the TRUE value of your trade, or buy there and pay THOUSANDS more for your purchase, but make $800.00 more on your trade in?

Why do both LDS credit unions in Las Vegas recommend you?

I worked for YEARS to get those endorsements! They have faith in what we do, and have seen the prices their members have paid year after year when buying from us.

I know that you market your service to the LDS population, will you also buy for someone who is not LDS?

Yes, I do not limit my business to only LDS people. I just limit my marketing to them. I will buy for anyone, but PLEASE do not send me any "flaky" people that will not keep their word.

How did you get started in this business?

Go to the "about us" button on this web site and click it. It will tell you our story.

Can you send me a picture of the vehicle?

No, the auction sells between 1,500 and 3,000 vehicles per WEEK!!! It is not practical at this point in time to send pictures.

What if I ask you to buy a vehicle for me and when I see it, it is not what I want?

DO NOT DO THAT TO ME!!! For example, if you are interested in a 2005, white Toyota Camry, when I am standing next to it on Friday morning at the auction, I am going to describe it to you in DETAIL! You already know what an 05, white Camry looks like. I am only telling you what the condition of it is when I call you on Friday. As long as it is in the condition that I told you it was, why would you not like it? The time to decide if you want a particular vehicle or not, is BEFORE I buy it for you.

How do I know whether the vehicle is in good working condition? Is there a mechanic that looks at it?

If you are buying a vehicle that is less than three years old and has less than 36,000 miles on it, it has a FULL FACTORY WARRANTY on it! If there are any issues at all just take it to the franchise dealership and it will be repaired for FREE!!! If the vehicle you are buying is over three years old or has more than 36,000 miles on it, the factory warranty has expired. Remember, I check it out for you. I will tell you of anything that is obvious when it comes to the condition of the vehicle.
